1. When is the Kinwest Medical Clinic open?

The clinic will now be operating on an APPOINTMENT ONLY schedule.

2. Can I make an appointment to come to the Clinic?

Yes. Call (972) 443-3328 with name, reason for visit, DOB.

3. I understand the Clinic treats children ages 0-17 without health insurance, can I bring my child?

CALL FIRST. Our number is (972) 443-3328. Leave a message, name, DOB and reason for visit. If reason for the child visit is for a school physical, your school’s form is the only form accepted. If you child has Medicaid coverage, we will not perform the physical.

4. What are the requirements for coming to the Clinic?

1) Current, valid photo ID with TX address, city, and zip code

2) Transportation to/from the clinic for appointments

3) A working telephone in order for your registration and follow up.

5. Can I make an appointment to the Clinic if I have/had a high fever (100.1 degrees or higher) in the last 24hrs?

No.

6. Does the Clinic test for the influenza virus ("the flu")?

No.

7. I understand you do school physicals is there a cost for the physical?

No. But since a school physical is not an illness or a medical condition, we ask that a $15.00 donation be made to the Clinic upon arrival to help defray our costs of administrative supplies, diagnostic supplies, and equipment repair. One of our volunteers will visit with you about this.

8. If I have had a fall, am bleeding from an injury, sports injury, nausea or severe headaches, severe stomach pain, accident of any nature, temperature over 100 degrees, unable to walk, talk or communicate, I understand I cannot come to the Clinic, but what should I do?

If you are experiencing any of the above or ANY OTHER emergency conditions, DO NOT COME TO THE CLINIC. If you feel you are in immediate distress or danger CALL 911 immediately and/or immediately, without delay, go to your nearest Emergency Department.

9. Does the Clinic accept health insurance of any type?

No. And no, you can NOT come to the Clinic because you have third-party health coverage.

10. If I'm working full-time, can I pay to come to the Clinic?

No. It is an understanding on our part you CAN pay cash to see a provider in your local community (Emergency Urgent Care, hospital ER, etc.). That's how our great health care marketplace system works in Texas and America. Dependent on your family size and income level, you may qualify at these facilities for a payment plan or reduced fee.

11. Does the Clinic provide prescriptions if I need them?

No. If a patient registers and sees a provider to which the provider determines a prescription is needed, one will be written for you. It is the patient's responsibility to go to a pharmacy of their choice and have the prescription filled.

12. I recently visited a hospital Emergency Room, can I come to the Clinic for a follow-up?

That may be a possibility. The best option for you is to CALL US at (972) 443-3328 to get the details of your ER or other doctor visit.

13. Does the Clinic accept donations?

Yes. Donations are NOT a PAYMENT for services. They are to cover some of our Clinic costs for administration and EMR registration. You will be asked to donate a fee to cover the above costs of $10.00 per visit
